Have you ever gotten yourself into a jam? Made a dumb decision, said something without thinking and now… how do you get yourself out of this mess? As Christians we tend to turn to God for help. I too, turn to God. I pray for Him to clear up my mistakes and get me out of this mess. My problem is, I want and expect God to fix it NOW!!!
The Lord spoke to me one day while I was doing laundry and questioning Him as why he was taking so long to fix one of my requests. As I was emptying my washing machine and tossing the wet clothes into the dryer, some of the items just didn’t want to come out. They were tangled up with the rest of the garments in the washing machine. If I tugged too hard I could rip something, so I had to work and pull them apart gently and untangle the chaos one piece at a time.
As I was unraveling and flipping the heavy wet clothes I realized this is probably how God works when he has to unravel some of the muddles I get tangled in. Just as I have to take the time to gently unravel and pull out the items one at a time, God has to do the same with my messes. Each hurt and wrong doing must be gently unraveled and removed one piece at a time in order for me and all others involved can emerge intact and unharmed. It was a gentle reminder for me to be patient and trust God when I seek his help to get me out of another one of my jams.
