"Love God, Love Others, Serve Both"
Did we simply forget…or did we intentionally omit?
Do you remember the Easter Sunday that we had 327 people in attendance? Or, what about the baptism service where we witnessed 11 teenagers baptized on the same day? Do you remember the year the choir did that beautiful Christmas Cantata…we had over 45 people in the choir that year? Do you remember?
The surgeon found something yesterday when doing exploratory surgery on the church…the organ of “nostalgia.” We like to reflect back on those days and events in the life of the church…but what happened? What has transpired over the course of many years that we no longer see the vibrant ministries of the past? Maybe we forgot. Is it possible that we have forgotten the clear command of Jesus Christ?
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
When did we stop going? When did we quit making disciples? When did we stop baptizing and teaching? Did we simply forget these commands…or did we intentionally omit them? Ouch! Leaders, it’s time we wake up from our spiritual amnesia. The commands are clear…Go…Make Disciples…Baptize…Teach! And go with the understanding that the great I AM is going with you!

Next Sunday, July 17th…the church will be gathering for worship at Potato Creek State Park at 10:30 AM. There will be no services at the church that morning. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come to the Worship Service and All Church Picnic that will follow. Have a great week.
